Bill Meritet, LCSW-R has over 25 years of experience working with individuals with a wide variety of diagnoses including co-occurring disorders. His training includes cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodrama, motivational interviewing and mindfulness. He is strongly interested in working with people suffering from depression, anxiety and trauma.
The first 10 years of his career Mr. Meritet spent working in various addiction rehabilitation settings, both inpatient and outpatient, using a cognitive behavioral therapy approach. The next 10 or so years were spent working with the Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) population in a day program learning more about various disorders and motivational interviewing. Mr. Meritet has also learned about and experienced first hand psychodrama and applied improvisation as well as developing skills in mindfulness techniques. More recently, Mr. Meritet’s attention has turned to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
